Which iPhones does Lapwing work on?
Recording, import and playback work on any supported iPhone. Transcription and summarization require an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence, which means an iPhone 15 Pro or newer.
Why do I not see a transcript or a summary?
Transcription and summarization use Apple's on-device speech recognition and Apple Intelligence, so they need an iPhone 15 Pro or newer with Apple Intelligence turned on. On an iPhone without it, Lapwing explains this in the app, and your recording is kept. If processing fails, the recording and the transcript are kept, and you can run it again.
Where are my recordings kept?
On your iPhone, in Lapwing's private storage. Nothing is uploaded, and we hold no copy, so we cannot recover a meeting for you. Lapwing's storage is part of your iPhone, so it is included in your iPhone backups, including iCloud Backup if you use it.
How do I export my meetings?
In Settings, choose Export Everything. You get your whole library as plain Markdown plus your original recordings, and you can take it wherever you like.
How do I restore a purchase?
In Settings, choose Restore Purchases, signed in with the Apple Account you bought Lapwing with.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Open Apple's page on canceling a subscription, or on your iPhone go to Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Everything you have already captured stays available after you cancel, including playback, transcripts, summaries and export.
How do I delete Lapwing's data?
Deleting a meeting in the app (Delete Meeting) removes its recording, transcript and exported files from your iPhone. Deleting the app removes everything it stored. A copy can remain in your iPhone backups until those backups are replaced or deleted, which you control in iOS Settings.
Can Lapwing record a phone call?
iOS does not allow any third-party app to record a phone call. To capture a call, record it with the Phone app on your iPhone and import the file.
