This Privacy Policy applies to the Total Recall application for iPhone ("Total Recall," the "App"). Total Recall is built so that your recordings, transcripts, and notes never leave your device. This page explains exactly what that means, and it is intentionally short because there is very little to disclose.
1. We collect no data
Total Recall does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. The App has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind.
Audio you record, transcripts, summaries, action items, and every other piece of content the App produces are created on your device and stored only on your device. We never receive them. We could not read them if we wanted to, because no copy exists anywhere we can reach.
2. How processing works
Recording, transcription, speaker identification, and summarization all run entirely on your iPhone using on-device machine learning. No audio or text is sent to any server, including ours, for processing.
The one network activity the App performs is a download. The first time speaker identification runs, the App downloads its machine-learning model files from a public model repository (Hugging Face). This is a one-way download of software components, comparable to an app update. Nothing about you, your device, or your recordings is included in that request beyond the standard technical information any download involves. The model files are then stored on your device for all future use.
3. Subscriptions and payments
Total Recall Pro is an auto-renewable subscription billed by Apple through your Apple Account. Apple processes the payment; we never see your payment details. Apple provides us only aggregated, anonymized sales reporting.
Your subscription status is verified on your device using Apple's StoreKit framework. If your subscription lapses, everything you already recorded remains on your device and remains fully accessible to you.
4. Your recordings and the law
You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to recording conversations where you live and work, including obtaining consent from participants where required. Because recordings never reach us, we have no ability to review, moderate, or produce them.
5. Data retention and deletion
Retention is entirely in your hands. Deleting a meeting in the App deletes it from your device. Deleting the App deletes everything it stored. Your device backups (such as iCloud device backup) may include the App's data under the terms of your agreement with Apple; we are not a party to that backup and cannot access it.
6. Children's privacy
Total Recall is not directed to children under 13, and because the App collects no data from anyone, it collects no data from children.
7. Changes to this policy
If a future version of the App changes what is described here, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date before that version ships. A change will never apply retroactively to recordings made under an earlier policy.
